As my time in Nepal is almost over, time to update the expense account.
Recap: Balance as of the last count up stands at £540.47 at the beginning of January.
As of February 29th:
53 nights at 600 Rupees per night with an average exchange rate of 150 = £212
(double room, TV, bathroom and ceiling fan)
Aver\age food and drink expense per day at £2.50 for 53 days = £132.50
(bulk purchase of supermarket cereal plus Ipad time exchanged for family food!)
Birthday cake for Sushmita 700 rupees = £4.66 (big size 9 portions)
Candy for the kids 1200 rupees = £8
Candy for the adults 400 rupees = £2.66
Plane ticket to Kathmandu on Simrik Air $US105 at exchange rate of UK£1.4 = £75
Total 7 weeks in Nepal = £434.82.
Total trip expense thus far then stands at 540.47 + 434.82 = £975.29
Well, there it is in black and white. I don't usually spend this much in Nepal but splashing out on that air ticket instead of taking the bus accounts for the overspend.
